ANZAC Day 2024

This year ANZAC Day marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of Portland’s Soldiers’ Memorial Club Rooms.

Once again we are relying on our veteran community and the wider community for help with the commemorations.

That help includes:

Helping to grow flowers for the floral display – either at the Portland Botanic Gardens, the Portland Community Gardens, Treloar Roses or in individual gardens;

Assisting with selling ANZAC Appeal merchandise in various locations in Portland in the week prior to ANZAC Day;

Sponsorship of wreaths to adorn the white crosses representing Portland district’s veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice or have died since returning home;

Helping to create the floral display at the Memorial Triangle on April 24th; and

Helping to dismantle the display several days after the event.

Further details on how you can help will be made available closer to the date.
